DULUTH, Minn. (WCCO) – A college student is badly hurt after spending all night in the cold.

Nineteen-year-old Alyssa Jo Lommel was found unconscious on a neighbor’s porch in Duluth Saturday morning.

The University of Minnesota-Duluth student had been dropped off at her own home more than nine hours earlier.

Temperatures had fallen to minus 18, with a minus 36 wind chill overnight.

Lommel is being treated at a Twin Cities hospital.

Her family says her hands and feet are so badly damaged, she may lose limbs.
