MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said two people were found dead after a home caught fire in northern Minnesota Tuesday night.

The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office was called to a residential fire at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 26000 block of Beltrami Line Road in Helga Township. When crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames.

After fire officials were able to put the blaze out, they found two people dead inside the home. They said a 79-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man had died, but their names are not being released at this time. Authorities said the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshal.

Also assisting at the scene were the Bemidji, Cass Lake and Lakeport Fire Departments as well as the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office among other assisting agencies.
