Police: 1 In Custody After Minneapolis Homicide

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One man is in custody after a homeowner was shot and killed in north Minneapolis late Friday morning, according to police.

Minneapolis Police were called to the 3700 block of Aldrich Avenue North at about 11:46 a.m. on a report that a man had gone into a residence and told the homeowner to call police. The man told the homeowner he was being chased by people that wanted to kill him.

Police said the homeowner called 911, and, a short time later, authorities arrived and found that the homeowner had been shot. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police found the man originally asking for help inside the residence and took him into custody.

The man was identified Friday night as 20-year-old Devon Derrick Parker. Police tweeted that he was booked into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center.
