MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The driver of a septic truck died Monday morning in western Wisconsin, officials say, after the truck collided with a Union Pacific train.

The collision happened just before 11 a.m. north of the intersection of 150th Street and CTH TT in Hammond Township, the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office said.

The train was traveling west when it struck the truck, which was going south.

The county medical examiner pronounced the truck driver dead at the scene. The deceased’s identity is being withheld until family can be notified.

No one else was injured in the collision.

Officials closed the railroad crossing Monday where the incident happened. The collision is under investigation.

Hammond Township is about 50 miles east of Minneapolis.
