MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said one person is dead after a house fire in Columbia Heights Tuesday night.

Crews responded to the 1000 block of 44 ½ Avenue at about 8:38p.m. on a report of a house fire. When authorities arrived, a 53-year-old woman had become trapped inside the residence by the fire. Firefighters from Columbia Heights were able to get inside the home, and the woman was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she later died.

Authorities said three other adult men got out of the home without injury. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Columbia Heights Fire, the State Fire Marshal, Columbia Heights Police and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.

The name of the victim has not been released.
