Gopher Women To Host No. 21 Purdue

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Gopher women's basketball team's NCAA tournament chances could be at stake when Minnesota hosts No. 21 Purdue Thursday night.

The Gophers are on a four-game winning streak for the first time since the 2008-09 season.

Coach Pam Borton posted her 300th career win with the Gophers' victory at Northwestern on Saturday. Borton will be presented with a commemorative basketball in honor of her 300th win before Thursday night's tipoff against the Boilermakers.

Minnesota's Amanda Zahui B. also will be honored before the game with a basketball commemorating her Minnesota single-season blocks record.

The Gophers are 17-9 on the season, 6-6 in the Big Ten. Purdue is 18-7 overall, 8-5 in the conference.

Tipoff is 7 p.m. CST Thursday at Williams Arena.
