ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (WCCO) — An armed robber is on the loose after tying up an employee and a customer at a video store Monday night, according to Alexandria Police.
The incident happened at Premiere Video at approximately 10 p.m., when a man with a black handgun forced an employee to give him an undetermined amount of money from the store’s cash register and safe.
The suspect then bound and tied the two victims by their wrists and ankles, but was interrupted by a customer who was using the store’s drop box outside. That customer called 911, but the suspect fled before police arrived.
He is described as a man in his mid-20s and is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweat jacket, dark-colored pants, dark brown shoes, black gloves and a black face mask.
Authorities are trying to determine if the suspect is connected to a robbery on Feb. 23 at an Alexandria Subway restaurant, where an employee was tied up in a similar way.
