MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in northern Minnesota said a man who had been missing for about two days was found Thursday morning and is safe.

James Ernest Piere, 35 of Garfield, Minn., hadn’t been seen since about 10 p.m. Tuesday. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said he walked away from a residence on Aspen Drive NE, just east of County Road 3 near the county line with Ottertail County. Authorities said he had winter clothing on when he walked away and was with his black lab. Garfield is located just northwest of Alexandria.

Authorities said Piere was located at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday and is alive and well.
