Warrant Issued After Man Allegedly Punched Toddler, Stabbed Man

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A warrant has been issued after a man allegedly punched a 2-year-old child in the face and attacked another man with a knife in Jordan, Minn., according to police.

The Jordan Police Department is now investigating the incident that took place on the 100 block of West Third Street.

At 11 p.m. Monday, officers responded to the location and learned that an altercation between two adult males had taken place. Witnesses told police that the male suspect punched the child and pulled a knife on a man, who suffered stab wounds to his hand. The suspect was soon disarmed by other people present.

The incident wasn't immediately reported to police and the suspect was already gone by the time police arrived.

Now, a warrant is issued for the suspect, identified as Jared Richard Valinksi, who has no known permanent address. He was last known to be staying with friends in either Chaska or Shakopee.
