MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s about a month before the fishing opener in Minnesota. But if you’re interested in stream trout fishing, that season opens Saturday.

On Friday, the DNR added 1,000 rainbow trout to a river not too far from the Twin Cities.

WCCO photojournalist Gordy Leach went to the Vermillion River to watch, and you can see his report in the video above.

Remember, you need a fishing license and a trout stamp to go after those rainbows.
