MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating a crash between a pick-up truck and a semi Sunday night in Kandiyohi County that killed one person and injured several others, including two children.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the crash happened at 6:14 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 71 and Highway 7.

Four people were inside a 2011 Ford SRW Super Duty pick-up truck, including the driver, when it struck a 2012 Volvo semi in the intersection. Forty-six-year-old Lisa Heidecker, of Lake Lillian, Minn. was killed in the crash.

The driver, 48-year-old James Heidecker, also of Lake Lillian, suffered non-life threatening injuries. Two other passengers, 10-year-old Mitchell Heidecker and 5-year-old Marissa Heidecker also suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the semi, 33-year-old George Sutton, of Fort Worth, TX was also injured in the crash. His injuries were also said to be non-life threatening.

Authorities said the pick-up truck was heading eastbound on Highway 7 and hit the semi-truck, which was headed northbound on Highway 71, in the intersection.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the State Patrol with the investigation.
