MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – We’re having a week-long celebration to honor Earth Day and on Wednesday we’re learning about some green products to make your home more eco-friendly.

Some of the ideas might blow your mind. We spoke with the experts at Natural Built Home to get some ideas on making homes greener.

Loren Schirber with Natural Built Home said one of the most popular ways to be more eco-friendly in your home is to do so with your kitchen counter-tops. They offer locally made counter-tops constructed with recycled glass and walnut shell.

You can also tile your floor with wine cork. Schirber said it can be used all over your home, but is most popular in the shower. He also said building a bath vanity that uses reclaimed wood is still a hot trend.

For them, it’s all about being eco-friendly and having locally-made products in your home. Natural Built Home is based in Minneapolis.
