MOA Shoppers Can Soon Zip Line Across The Mall

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If walking across the massive Mall of America in Bloomington is too strenuous for you, no need to worry, a new zip line can help you get moving.

Crews at MOA are installing two zip lines that stretch across Nickelodeon Universe. The zip line starts 55 feet up above the Dutchman's Deck ropes course.

"You can fly right over the park from one side to the other," Maureen Bausch Vice President of Development at the MOA said. "You go about 405 feet almost to American Girl and then you turn around and go all the way back."

Bausch says their goal is to have the zip line open by July 4.

So far this year the mall has added a light show in the evenings – 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. – and scavenger hunt using a mobile phone.

Last March, the mall announced the Hard Rock Cafe will return the Twin Cities with a MOA location. The restaurant will open this summer. It'll be a 15,000-square-foot cafe that can seat 400 guests.
