1 Killed In Head-On Crash In Goodhue County

RED WING, Minn. (WCCO) — The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a head-on collision that killed one person Monday morning in Goodhue County.

The State Patrol said the crash happened at about 7:30 a.m. along Highway 61 near Staehli Park Road near Red Wing, Minn.

A vehicle traveling north on Highway 61 crossed the center line and crashed with a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the vehicle that crossed the center line died in the crash. The State Patrol identified him as 49-year-old Brian Schoonover of Oronoco, Minn.

The other driver received non-life threatening injuries.

The Lake City Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
