MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 44-year-old man was rescued from a burning car by two passers-by after a rollover crash in northern Minnesota on Thursday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities responded to the crash at about 8:28 a.m. on eastbound Highway 169 in St. Louis County. Officers learned a 2013 Honda Civic was heading east on the highway in the area of Tower when it left the road, went into the north ditch and rolled. The crashed caused the vehicle to catch fire.

Two passers-by spotted the crash and pulled the man from the car. He was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries. The State Patrol said what led up to the crash is under investigation with assistance from the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
