MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – There’s a new coffee shop in the Twin Cities. Its brew comes with bitters in it, even though bitters are more commonly thought of as an ingredient for cocktails, not java.

Furthermore, the coffee you can get at Five Watt is bought directly from a roaster based in Wisconsin.

Edward Moody checked out Five Watt in Minneapolis this Wednesday to see what people are literally lining up out the door to try.

Five Watt’s Lee Carter showed Moody a number of the shop’s unique brewing devices and presses, but the star of the show is their predilection for bitters.

Five Watt coffee opened May 2. It is located on 37th Street West and Nicollet Avenue South, in the Kingfield neighborhood.
