Wild Will Start Season With Pair Vs. Avalanche

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- The Minnesota Wild will start the regular season by renewing a brewing rivalry.

The Wild open at home against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday, Oct. 9. Then they travel to Denver for a rematch against the reigning Central Division champions two days later. The Wild beat the Avalanche in seven games in their first-round playoff series earlier this year.

The Wild face both of their recent postseason opponents five times each. They also host Colorado on Feb. 7 and March 8. Chicago comes to Xcel Energy Center on Jan. 8 and Feb. 3. The Wild play at the Blackhawks three times.

The Wild play on the road the day after Thanksgiving and on New Year's Eve which have traditionally been home dates for the team.
