MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – If you haven’t signed up yet for the Twin Cities Marathon, you’re probably out of luck for this year. Officials said Wednesday that registration has closed for the 33rd running of the race, which is set for Oct. 5. It has reached capacity.

It’s one of the most popular running events in the state and will include competitors form all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico and 21 other countries. The race will start in downtown Minneapolis and finish on the grounds of the State Capitol in St. Paul.

Officials said there are 12,200 competitors signed up for the Twin Cities Marathon.
