MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person is dead after a crash involving two cars and a semi-truck  in west central Minnesota Tuesday night, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities responded to the crash at about 8:15 p.m. on Highway 12 about three miles east of the city of Degraff in Swift County. When officers arrived, a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am was heading eastbound on Highway 12 and attempting to make a left turn on 30th Street SE when it was rear-ended by a 1997 Audi Cabriolet.

The State Patrol said after being rear-ended, the Pontiac was broadsided on the driver’s side by a semi-truck heading westbound on Highway 12. The driver of the Pontiac was killed.

The driver and a passenger in the Audi, both from Sleepy Eye, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash. The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt.

The State Patrol has not released the name of the victim.
