Officials: Man, 57, Killed In Becker Co. Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A northern Minnesota man died Thursday morning, officials said, after he was thrown from a van that had rolled several times.

Fifty-seven-year-old Kevin James Evans, of rural Vergas, crashed around 8 a.m. on Highway 17 in Becker County, the sheriff’s office said.

Evans was driving north in a 1999 Chrysler van, when he lost control on a curve south of the intersection with State Highway 59.

He over-corrected, officials said, and the van rolled several times and started on fire.

The crash threw Evans from the van. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.
