MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A body was recovered from the Mississippi River near Brooklyn Park, Minn. Saturday evening, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.

According to officials, the sheriff’s office received a call about a body in the river shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday.

Crews searched the area near 83rd Avenue and West River Road, just south of Highway 610, for about an hour before they recovered the body of an adult male.

Officials said it appeared as though the body had been in the water for some time.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office is looking into the cause of death.

The case is still under investigation.
