ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Police said a woman who died Sunday after she was found unresponsive in a car south of downtown St. Paul had been shot.

Police have identified the woman as British Autavia Morris-Rice of St. Paul.

St. Paul Police said officers discovered Morris-Rice, 22, while on routine patrol late Saturday night near the intersection of Robert and George Streets. She was taken to Regions Hospital, where she later died.

Police have ruled her death a homicide, and said Monday morning that the woman had suffered a gunshot wound.

Authorities said the woman’s death remains under investigation and they have not released any information about suspects.
