Sheriff: 2 Hurt After Outdoor Stove Explodes In Crow Wing County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two people were injured Thursday morning after an outdoor stove exploded at a residence in northern Minnesota, according to the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities responded to the incident at about 10:36 a.m. at a residence on Nokay Lake Road. When officers arrived, it appeared that an outdoor wood stove exploded when a man was attempting to hit it. The man and a woman were injured as a result of the explosion.

The victims were taken to Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby for burn injuries. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

The accident is still under investigation as the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Deerwood Police.
