MANKATO, Minn. (WCCO) – A perfect example of doing what it takes to make the team is wide receiver and special teams player, Adam Thielen.

Thielen is right at home in Vikings training camp, as he went to college at Minnesota-State Mankato.

During practice he was all over the place, returning punts, even though that’s Marcus Sherels job right now, and also running down on special teams to make a tackle.

He was on the Vikings practice squad all of last year.

In addition to football, Thielen also played high school ball at Detroit Lakes, where he helped them to a 9-1 record his senior year.

He’s trying to get to the NFL the hard way, but it’s been done before.

WCCO’s Mike Max caught up with Adam in Mankato.
