MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Family and friends gathered Saturday morning to remember a Minneapolis high school football player who drowned.

Sha-kym Adams, 15, was swimming at Lake Nokomis last week with some teammates when he went under water.

Before he drowned, he’d spent the morning running and practicing with his South High School teammates for the upcoming football season.

His funeral was held at New Salem Baptist Church in Minneapolis.
