MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 35-year-old woman and two children were hurt in a rollover crash Saturday night in northern Minnesota, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities received a report of a one-vehicle rollover crash at about 5:05 p.m. in White Township, which is about five miles south of Avon. When officers arrived, they learned the woman was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee when she lost control of the vehicle while trying to light a cigarette.

The woman, a 1-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy were taken to a hospital with injuries. The woman and 1-year-old were not seriously hurt. The 4-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital, and the extent of his injuries was not known.

Authorities said there were no child safety seats inside the car at the time of the crash. Authorities said the crash is still under investigation, and charges could be pending against the woman.
