Overdose Linked To Stolen Meds From Starbuck Drug Store

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the theft of about 1,800 potent prescription pills and pain patches that are connected to a drug overdose in Stevens County.

The medications, including some oral solutions, were stolen last Tuesday from Samuelson's Drug Store in Starbuck.

Police in Morris say a man overdosed Thursday from fentanyl transdermal patches, which were linked to the drug store burglary.

A man was arrested Monday in Stevens County for selling pills which are also believed to be stolen from Samuelson's.

These medications could cause severe injury and even death if not used as directed.

Starbuck and Morris police ask anyone who knows of someone selling pills, pain patches and oral solutions to call 911.
