Second Annual 'Let's Not Be Still' Run/Walk Held In Eden Prairie

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An event Saturday helped raise money for an emotional and difficult cause.

The second annual "Let's Not Be Still" run/walk was held.

The event helps raise awareness for stillbirth, and remember babies that were stillborn.

The walk took place at Purgatory Creek Park Pavilion in Eden Prairie.

WCCO's own Jamie Yuccas emceed the event, but she's not the only one at our station that took part.

WCCO photojournalist Aaron Goodyear and his wife lost their baby Silas while still in the womb nearly two years ago.

Now they take part in the event to honor him.

"So people know that it's something that happens. That 71 babies die a day due to stillbirth. And it's something in the United States that we really need to get the medical field in to watch, so that we can prevent some of these," Amber Goodyear, Silas' mother, said.

Saturday's event helped raise money for the Star Legacy Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to stillbirth research and education.
