Wisconsin Truck Driver Arrested In Fatal Crash

LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin authorities have arrested a man who they say caused a fatal crash in a dump truck while he was intoxicated.

The La Crosse County District Attorney's Office says the 36-year-old man faces a charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle in the July crash that killed 29-year-old Jason Songer of La Crescent, Minnesota.

Authorities say the dump truck was driving at 55 mph when it rear-ended Songer's car. They say the dump truck ended up on top of the car before both vehicle caught on fire and caused a chain reaction involving four other vehicles. Four other people were injured.

Authorities haven't released the results of the driver's alcohol and drug tests.

He faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
