Protesters Rally Outside Mpls. Police Station Saturday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Two days after protesters shut down 35W, they assembled in a quieter way Saturday.

Protesters, some wearing masks, stood outside a Minneapolis Police station at the corner of Lake and Minnehaha.

They're joining a nationwide effort to protest what they consider police brutality following the deaths of two black men by white police officers.

In both cases, the officers were not indicted by grand juries.

One 17-year-old protester explained why she continues to protest the death of Michael Brown and Eric Gardner.

"I think it's good for young people to stick up," she said, "and I actually had a stand-in at my school and over 200 students showed up, so everything starts with us."
