Sheriff: Adult Male Stops 12-Year-Old Boy, Asks If He Wants A Ride

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Chanhassen Crime Prevention released a public safety notice after an adult male reportedly stopped a boy walking home from school.

According to the Carver County Sheriff's Office, around 4:40 p.m. on Monday a 12-year-old boy was walking home from the bus drop on Orchard Lane when an adult male pulled up next to him.

The male drove up to the boy, stopped, rolled down his window an asked if the boy needed a ride home.

Officials said the boy said now and the male drove away.

He was driving a light blue suburban style vehicle.

Carver County Sheriff's Office described him as a while male with black hair between 50 and 60  years of age.

Deputies searched the area but didn't locate the vehicle or a male matching that description.

No similar incidents have occurred.

Although no crime occurred, the Carver County Sheriff's Office released a public safety notice alerting residents to the event and offering safety tips for parents.
