Pedestrian Hit, Killed By SUV With Snowplow In Beltrami Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 32-year-old man is dead after he was hit by a SUV with a snowplow in Beltrami County Wednesday evening.

Timothy John Widstrom, of Walker, Minnesota, was walking along the side of the road.

According to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, at 7:59 p.m. officers were notified of a crash in the 16000 block of Roosevelt Road SE.

Officers were told the crash involved a 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe with an attached plow and a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, officers learned the SUV was traveling northbound and the victim was walking southbound along the west side of the road.

According to police, witnesses said the victim was walking with two other people when he ran across the southbound lane into the northbound lane.

He was then struck by the SUV.

Police said the driver did not see the man as he had been dressed in dark clothing.

Once on the scene, police found the victim unresponsive on the side of the road.

Bemidji Ambulance EMT's arrived and attempted to revive the man but were not successful. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The victim's identity has not been released. This incident is currently under investigation.
