Timberwolves Have 4 Players In Rising Stars Challenge

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Wednesday they'll have four players representing the team in the Rising Stars Challenge as part of the NBA's All-Star Weekend in February.

It's the most players from one team that will have ever played in the event's 21-year history. The game features a U.S. Team against a World Team. Zach LaVine and Shabazz Muhammad have been selected for the U.S. Team, while Andrew Wiggins and Gorgui Dieng have been named to the World team.

Wiggins leads all NBA rookies in scoring at more than 15 points per game. He also ranks third in steals and fifth in rebounding.

The game puts players from the U.S. in their first and second years in the NBA against players from around the world in their first and second years. The game will played at 9 p.m. eastern time on Friday, Feb. 13 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

It was also announced earlier this week that LaVine will represent the Timberwolves in the NBA All-Star Dunk Contest.
