Light Up The City At The Mpls Lantern Fest

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The days are getting longer, but that's no reason not to light up the city during this year's Mpls Lantern Fest.

On Wednesday, WCCO This Morning's Ali Lucia was live at In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, discussing the festival with Leah Wong, vice president of events and marketing for the Minneapolis Downtown Council.

She said the Mpls Lantern Fest is an event that aims to bring the community together downtown. The origins of Lantern Fest were born out of that mission to create an extraordinary downtown for all who live, work, play and explore in Minneapolis.

There are still a few days left to participate in the fest. It's being held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the First Universalist Church on the 3400 block of SOuth Dupont Avenue. It will be at the In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre on the 1500 block of East Lake Street from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
