Vikings Greenway Hosts Fundraiser For Mothers Of Chronically Ill Children

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Some mothers who usually put their family first were given a morning for themselves on Sunday.

Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway and his wife, Jenni, hosted their annual "TendHER Heart" luncheon at the Minneapolis Hilton on Sunday. It brings together around a hundred mothers of chronically ill children.

While the Greenway's foundation provides support in the hospitals, today's event gives the women a chance to find support from outside of it.

"How really profound the relationships have become, how much they've helped each other and have become friends outside the hospital or events they go to. It's really what it's all about," Chad Greenway said.

After the brunch, the moms could enjoy makeovers and had the chance to share stories and support one another.

Greenway has also been a fan favorite for the Vikings over his career as a linebacker with the team. He recently agreed to a pay cut in order to finish his NFL career where it started, in Minnesota.
