Lund's & Byerly's Branding Together With New Name
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A well known grocery store chain in the Twin Cities is changing its name.
Byerly's and Lunds stores have been owned by the same company for 18 years, and starting Thursday, the grocery stores will share their name: "Lunds and Byerly's."
CEO Tres Lund says the change began in 2012 when market research showed that ninety five percent of customers knew the two stores were the same company.
"The benefit is the alignment to our culture," Lund said. "We think of ourselves as Lunds and Byerly's. That wasn't the case in the early stages, but today we are Lunds and Byerly's and to our customers we are Lunds and Byerly's."
Signs, uniforms, bags, and more will be changed at 27 different stores in the metro by the end of May.
