Tap Talk: Surly Set To Open 'Brewer's Table'

Surly's already impressive Destination Brewery is about to become even more so, when the brewery opens its new finer dining restaurant.

The restaurant, called "Brewer's Table", will open on the upper level of the Destination Brewery at 5 p.m. Friday, May 22.

According to Surly, the restaurant is its way of building on the craft brew movement, by pairing food with its beer.

"The name of the restaurant emphasizes the primary idea of the venture — where beer harmonizes with food to empower trailblazing pairings that showcase an extensive representation of flavor profiles, of both food and beer," the brewery's website said.

Executive chef Jorge Guzman heads the kitchen, and Surly promises that the menu will be anything but stale.

"The menu will change frequently and also features a 'beer and a bump' order that pairs a special, innovative dish with a Surly beer that complements the plate. However, the food-beer combo the diner orders will be a total surprise, introducing an unpredictable element to the dining experience."

The restaurant seats 85 guests inside and 28 guest on the outdoor deck. Hours are Wednesday/Thursday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday/Saturday, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. It is currently taking reservations.
