Natalie & Mike Enter The Sumo Ring!

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- There are three world-champion sumo wrestlers doing live demonstrations and meeting fans Saturday at the Mall of America in Bloomington.

These three champions weigh a combined 1,400 pounds!

Yama -- the heaviest Japanese person in history -- weighs 600 pounds and is a two-time World Sumo Champion.

If you want to see them in action, the exhibition events are at noon and 4 p.m., and then there's a meet and greet at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

It's free to attend, and it's really something that you have to see in person to fully appreciate.

In the video above, Mike Augustyniak and Natalie Nyhus found that these guys are more than just big – they are elite athletes.

Oh, and on Friday, the WCCO Mid-Morning team tried to take Yama down (by the way, "yama" means "mountain" in Japanese.) You can watch their entire bout here or just enjoy our animated GIF summary:
