Isanti Co. Authorities Seek Help Finding Man Who Held Up Gas Station Wearing Fake Dreads
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials in Isanti County are asking the public's help in finding the man who robbed a gas station at gunpoint while wearing a Jamaican cap with fake dreadlocks sewn into it.
The Isanti County Sheriff's Office said the robbery happened just before 1 p.m. Wednesday at the T&C Self-Serve gas station on Minnesota Highway 47 in Bradford Township.
Officials gave a long and colorful description of the suspect. The man is said to be in his early 30s, close to 6-feet-tall, with a medium build and clean-shaven face.
During the robbery, he was wearing "terminator-type" sunglass, a colorful knit Jamaican cap with fake dreadlocks and little sunshine on top, black athletic shorts, and a blue crew neck T-shirt beneath a blue plaid hooded sweatshirt.
The man held up the gas station with a black semiautomatic handgun, the sheriff's office said. He got away with an undetermined amount of cash.
The suspect fled the scene going west in a 2006-2013 Chevrolet Impala with a chrome strip on the trunk above the bumper. The car had to rear license plate.
Anyone who sees this man is asked to call 911. The sheriff's office says he should be considered armed and dangerous.
