Police: Roseville Bank Robbery Suspect Escaped South Dakota State Prison

ROSEVILLE, Minn. (WCCO) -- The Roseville Police Department says they're looking for a a suspect who robbed a bank Saturday after escaping from South Dakota state prison last Friday.

On Tuesday, they identified the suspect as 46-year-old Clint Eldeen. The South Dakota Department of Corrections says he escaped from state prison at about 6:45 p.m. last Friday. He had served 15 years in South Dakota for convictions related to check fraud and has a lengthy criminal history.

Authorities say Eldeen entered the Bremer Bank at 1715 West County Road B2 Saturday morning, approached the teller and gave the employee a note demanding money and implying that he had a gun. The teller gave him an undisclosed amount of money before he fled the area.

Eldeen abandoned the car he had been suspected of driving, a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am, in the Rosedale Commons parking lot. Authorities later learned that vehicle had been stolen from a Pizza Hut delivery man in Sioux Falls, S.D., Friday night. The suspect later stole license plates from a vehicle on display at Furlong Motors in Faribault.

The suspect then stole gas in a drive-off from a Super America gas station in Lakeville at about 3 a.m. Saturday. Video surveillance and digital imaging have identified Eldeen as the suspect in this crime spree.

Eldeen is described as a white male about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a black baseball cap with white stitching and vent holes with a possible "Pizza Hut" logo above the hat's bill. He was also wearing a black long sleeve T-shirt with a logo above the left breast and a large flattened diamond logo on the back, khaki cargo short, white socks and white tennis shoes.

Authorities said Eldeen should be considered dangerous. Anyone who sees him or has information about him should call 911 immediately.
