Goin' To The Lake: WCCO Goes To Cold Spring (Day 2)
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's Friday, and that means WCCO is Goin' To The Lake! This week, WCCO-TV's Kim Johnson and Kylie Bearse are in Cold Spring with NewsRadio 830 WCCO's Chard Hartman.
On Thursday, they stopped at the Lakeview Bar and Grill at the Rich-Spring Golf Club, which is the only place on the Sauk River Chain of Lakes that you can boat up to and grab a bite to eat.
They also went to see the famous Cold Spring Brewery. It was founded back in 1874 and is still going strong today. They offer free tours, and all you have to do is call and schedule a time to visit.
And of course, they took a ride on the pontoon boat!
Friday started off with another brewery. This time, Kim and Kylie visited Third Street Brewhouse.
After learning a bit about the history of the brewhouse, Kylie decided to see what the WCCO crew learned about the history of her trip to Cold Spring!
Kylie tested Heather, Jamie, Jason and Matt's knowledge on the activities she and Kim took part in Thursday.

Kylie and Kim got the chance to visit the Cold Spring Bakery and try a few of their baked goods.
They had a chocolate cake that was to die for and sampled the delicious Eau Claires.
They also got the chance to hang out in the back where they were decorating some cakes.
After they were done at the bakery, they headed out to Richmond, where they found all kinds of great deals.
Lots of folks were having garage sales as part of the River Lake Days.

In the Richmond and Cold Spring area, there are 11 resorts and campgrounds around the chain of lakes.
One of them has a very long history: The Riverside Resort has been in business since the 1930s and its been family run that entire time.
"This is our fourth summer officially owning Riverside Resort, and it's been enjoyable keeping the tradition alive," Joe DeRose said.
That tradition started years ago when DeRose's great grandmother moved to this land from North Dakota.
Riverside Resort was built for family fun, with 19 cabins right on the shores of Cedar Island Lake.
Riverside Resort is open for business through most of October.
They have two-, three- and four-bedroom cabins for rent and also have RV sites for rent. You can stay for a long weekend or an entire week.

No lake trip is complete without a trip to the grocery store.
Kim and Kylie found one in Richmond that also has a great meat market.
In fact, they were told the hot dogs are so good that most people can't wait to cook them before they eat them.
That's not the only thing you'll find at Plantenberg's Food Pride. They've got great steaks, burgers and meat sticks.

Kim grew up coming to Richmond's River Lake Days, which is going on this weekend.
