Surfers Hit Mississippi River For World Series Of Wakesurfing

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- There was water training of a different kind on the Mississippi River on Saturday.

Hundreds of surfers hit the shore break for the latest stop in the World Series of Wakesurfing. It's the fifth time the contest has surfed into the Twin Cities. There were divisions for amateurs, semi-pro and professionals.

The professionals are competing for a spot in the world championships, to be held in Arizona in the fall.
