1 Injured, 1 Killed After Motorcycle Hits Deer In Polk Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person is dead and another is injured after a motorcycle hit a deer in Polk County Saturday evening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 44-year-old Corey L. Reitmeier, of Crookston, was driving westbound on Polk County Road 57 approaching Polk County Road 13.

Reitmeier stuck a deer that ran out in front of the motorcycle, throwing him and his passenger, 43-year-old Wendy L. Reitmeier, off the bike.

Corey was taken to the hospital by ambulance and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Wendy was pronounced dead on the scene.

Officials are still investigating the incident.
