Stranger On Rooftop Leads To Hinckley High School Lockdown
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Hinckley High School went into lockdown late Tuesday morning after a man was spotted on the school's roof.
The Pine County Sheriff's Office says two teachers saw the man just after 11 a.m. When one of the teachers confronted him, the suspect gave an evasive answer and disappeared.
Superintendent Rob Prater says they implemented the lockdown as a precautionary measure. The Pine County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrived soon after and conducted a sweep of the school.
They do not believe the man gained access to the school's interior, and witnesses say weapons were not spotted on the man.
The suspect is described as a man in his 30s, and was seen carrying a backpack and wearing a bright-colored hooded sweatshirt.
Prater says the lockdown lasted about an hour.
