Authorities Seek Predatory Offender Who Escaped From Halfway House

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Department of Corrections said it's looking for a Level III predatory offender who is no longer complying with the conditions of his release from prison.

Rico Ronondo Rodriguez, 34, was released from prison on Aug. 8 to intensive supervised release in Hennepin County. Authorities say he has been on fugitive status since Oct. 26, when he cut off his GPS device and escaped from a halfway house in Minneapolis.

He is described as African-American and is about 5 feet, 11 inches tall. He weighs about 227 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, torn blue jeans, a striped winter hat and dark shoes.

Authorities say Rodriguez has an extensive criminal history that includes convictions for criminal sexual conduct. He was sentenced to prison in 2003 for criminal sexual conduct against a known juvenile female and was also sentenced to prison in 2012 for failure to register as a predatory offender.

If you see Rodriguez, do not confront him. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Department of Corrections tip line at (651) 603-0026.
