Kylie's Kid: Meet Mia & 'Team Sass'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- On Mondays, Kylie Bearse takes a moment to learn more about a kid battling difficult circumstances. This week, she met one born with enough sass for a whole team.

Mia spent a year at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, trying to find a rare diagnosis. After Mia turned 5, her mother started to notice things were changing -- she was falling around and having a difficult time walking or feeding herself.

It took nearly a year with doctors at Children's Minnesota to find not one, but three diagnoses, all related to her brain and development.

All the while, Mia's family were there for her, especially her big brother Nick. They all stick up for the sassy little girl, and even call themselves "Team Sass," after her nickname.

Mia has graduated from occupational therapy and now just has speech and physical therapy, which her mother says is a huge improvement.
