Officials Investigating Medical Emergency At St. Paul Central High School

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- A crisis support team is in place at St. Paul Central High School after an apparent medical emergency involving a student happened at the school on Monday.

Parents of students who attend the school were given a letter about Monday's incident. School officials say a student experienced a serious medical emergency on the campus Monday afternoon. Staff at the school contacted emergency personnel immediately, and the student was taken to a hospital.

School officials say they have been in contact with the student's family and are working to provide support. Authorities didn't release any details on the nature of the medical emergency, and the student has not bene identified.

Officials said all after school activities at St. Paul Central have been canceled.

Officials said grief counselors and social workers will be at St. Paul Central on Tuesday for any students who need assistance.
