4 Things To Know: Snow Emergencies, Democratic Debate, Friends Day & More

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – From the snow emergencies in Minneapolis and St. Paul to the fifth Democratic debate to Facebook's Friends Day, here is a look at the top four stories from Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016.

Hundreds Of Cars Towed In Twin Cities

Nearly 800 cars were towed in Minneapolis and St. Paul since Tuesday night.

Both cities declared snow emergencies after a snowstorm dumped nearly a foot of snow in the metro area.

In St. Paul, 1,148 tickets were issued and 390 cars towed. In Minneapolis, 809 drivers were tickets and 401 cars were towed.

Clinton, Sanders Face Off In 5th Debate

It's Clinton versus Sanders as the fifth Democratic debate takes place Thursday night.

The two finished in a near tie in the Iowa Caucuses, but Sanders appears to have the edge with New Hampshire voters.

At a town hall event Wednesday night, Sanders and Clinton continued to trade jabs over their progressive values.

Both will look to gain ground Thursday with the first in the nation primary less than a week away.

Prescription Drug Costs

Skyrocketing prescription drugs will be Thursday's topic of conversation for Congress. Pharma company executives and FDA officials will testify.

Brand name medicine costs have more than doubled in the past five years.

A recent Kaiser Health tracking poll found that 72-percent of Americans consider drug costs to be unreasonable.

Happy Birthday, Facebook!

The social networking giant is marking the occasion by declaring it "Friends Day."

Mark Zuckerberg is asking users to share their stories of friendship. You'll likely see a personalized video on your feed that you can share.

The company's creator is also predicting Facebook will have 5 billion users by the year 2030.
