St. Paul Teacher Injured After Fight With 2 Students

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- Another St. Paul high school teacher has been injured in a fight with students.

It happened Wednesday at Como Park Senior High School. St. Paul police say the male teacher was taken to Regions Hospital for evaluation. Police questioned two male students and say they may face charges.

"Please know that I will not tolerate any behavior that puts our students and staff at risk," SPPS Superintendent Valeria Silva said in a letter to parents. "I am sorry about the disruption to the school day and any anxiety you or your child may have experienced as a result."

The fight comes a week after another teacher at that school posted comments on Facebook about student misbehavior and a lack of security, which drew criticism from the group Black Lives Matter. That teacher is now on paid leave, school officials confirmed Wednesday evening.

In December, a teacher at Central High School was hurt trying to break up a fight. That teacher is suing the school district.
