Police: St. Thomas Employee Assaulted On Minneapolis Campus

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities are looking for a suspect after a University of St. Thomas employee was assaulted Monday morning at the school's Minneapolis campus.

School officials say the incident happened at about 8:55 a.m. in Schulze Hall. Authorities say a St. Thomas employee was walking through Schultz Hall approaching lounge tables in the second floor hallway when he was approached by a male suspect not affiliated with the school. The suspect approached the employee and struck him in the face.

The suspect then continued through the skyway to MSL and ran to the Harmon Place parking ramp. The Minneapolis Police Department was called to investigate the incident.

Authorities say the suspect is described as a black male with a thin build in his late teens to early 20s with medium/neck length braided hair. He was wearing a flat-brimmed blue Miami Heat cap with a silver or gold sticker on the brim, a dark colored hooded sweatshirt with a zipper, hood down and zipper open, a red or maroon shirt with unknown white lettering, khaki pants, Adidas shoes with black stripes and carrying a green soft-sided briefcase with brown leather trim.

Minneapolis Police say a similar incident occurred recently involving a suspect with the same description. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Minneapolis Police Department at (612) 692-8477.
